Facebook Rebrands Itself As “Meta”, Invokes Public Backlash

The new parent company will include Facebook, the social media apps WhatsApp and Instagram, as well as the virtual reality brand Oculus.

After weeks of speculation, Facebook’s co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg finally announced the rebranding of the social media giant, during the company’s virtual reality event Facebook Connect.
